What will you be doing in this role?

Configuration, management, operation and a monitoring of production cloud environments to be used for research and investigation activities. Design, implementation, operation, maintenance, performance optimization and documentation of a desktop virtualization environment in the cloud. Creation, management and deployment of virtual machines and virtual machine templates for data science and investigatory activities. Deployment and operation of services (e. g. for data science) on the cloud and on-premise ICT environments. Provide subject matter expert technical support to the client's IT staff responsible for the provision of computing and ICT resourcesImplementation and administration of information security measures in accordance with security rules defined for the client's infrastructuresParticipation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users and other stakeholders. What will you be bringing to the team?

Master's degree in IT or related field. Minimum 9 years of experience in IT. Ability to design and set up services and software solutions in the cloud, including machine learning solutions, such as deploying ML models with AWS Bedrock. Experience in Linux system administration, in particular managing services and applications exposed to users via APIs and web interfacesGood knowledge of cloud architectures and experience in the setup of cloud infrastructureStrong knowledge of technological environments for virtualization of resources (esp. VMWare). Ability to set up, configure, manage and harden virtual machines and VM templates based on Linux operating systems. Strong and proven experience in the deployment and maintenance of services in the cloud, with emphasis on Data science services leveraging AI and high-end GPUs. Ability to define and implement solutions for the integration of multi-cloud and hybrid (cloud + on-premise) IT environments. Ability to define and implement solutions/services for network connectivity (e. g. VPN), protocols for data exchange, and access (SSH, RDP, VNC), including performance optimization. Experience in DevOps practices and automation of cloud infrastructure deployment, infrastructure as code practices. Knowledge of best cybersecurity practices in the cloud and experience in their implementation. Experience with access control and authentication technologiesAny training related to cloud architecture and operations, virtualisation and cloud security will be considered as beneficial for performing of tasks. Fluency in English.
