Communications Officer

The Communications Officer is responsible for leading the production of content for external and internal audiences.
The Officer will produce, edit and manage all video and graphic content for Caritas Internationalis.
This role requires a blend of video production expertise and graphic design skills to create visually compelling, on-brand content that effectively communicates our message to our audience.
Under the coordination of the Head of communications and in close collaboration with the Editorial & Media Officer and other Communications team members, the Communications officer will: Responsibilities Video Production and Editing to manage all aspects of video production, from pre-production (conceptualising, scripting, storyboarding) to post-production (editing, colour-grading, sound design), including but not limited to interviews, promotional videos, event coverage and clips for social media, ensuring alignment with the Caritas Internationalis brand's visual identity; to optimise videos for various platforms (social media, website, email) and formats to maximise audience engagement; to maintain and organise photos and videos database/archive.
Graphic Design and Editing to design high-quality graphics for use in digital content, such as social media posts, newsletters and website visuals; to create visually engaging infographics, presentations, and other materials that convey complex information in an easy-to-understand format; to edit existing graphic assets to maintain visual consistency across all content; to collaborate with the communications team to ensure graphic content aligns with brand guidelines and messaging tools, including coordination of publications including guiding service providers Content Planning and Strategy to contribute to the content strategy and brainstorming sessions with cross-functional teams; to plan, develop, and execute content calendars that align with the Caritas Internationalis goals and campaigns; to analyse audience insights and feedback to optimise and adapt video and graphic content for better engagement and reach.
Qualifications University degree in Communications, Multimedia Production, Graphic Design, or a related field; Minimum of 5 years of experience in video production, editing, and graphic design; Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator); Knowledge of video production techniques, including lighting, sound and colour correction; Strong understanding of branding principles and design trends; Excellent communication skills and attention to detail; Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; Experience with animation and motion graphics; Familiarity with social media platforms and trends in visual storytelling; Knowledge of photography and photo editing; Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) in at least two of the Confederation languages (English, French and Spanish); Capacity to work in a diverse team and a multicultural environment with a spirit of respect and service; Understanding of an "accompanying attitude" and ability to promote it with Member Organisations; Capacity and willingness to be flexible and to work well under pressure; Capacity and willingness to work with discretion regarding matters of high confidentiality or importance; Adaptability, flexibility and availability to travel in different countries, even with short-term notice; Ability to work collaboratively, prioritise effectively, and manage multiple deadlines.
Experience in Caritas or other Church organisations would be an asset; Innovative thinker with creative ideas to streamline Caritas Internationalis content outputs Demonstrable empathy and respect for the faith and values of the Catholic Church; Understanding of and commitment to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching in which Caritas' works is firmly rooted.
