Purpose
Context
Competitive Intelligence – part of Strategy, Sustainability and Growth Unit – is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and interpreting the competitive landscape of AIR and CARE therapeutic areas and for assessing external competitive environment of areas of interest for Chiesi business by providing insights about opportunities/threats to trigger business decisions.
Purpose
As Competitive Intelligence Manager you will work in a cross-functional and dynamic environment analyzing and interpreting the external landscape and providing actionable strategic insights and compelling recommendations to inform and/or trigger strategic business decisions, enhance commercial operations and support functions' projects.
Main Responsibilities
The Competitive Intelligence Manager will:
Build robust competitive landscapes by proactively analyzing secondary and primary intelligence sources Collect, monitor and interpret competitors' insights with regards to products' development and life cycle management, organizational capabilities and company's strategy Partner closely with global/corporate and local teams (e. g. SSG Unit, AIR & CARE Franchises, R&D, GMD, Affiliates, etc. . . ) to integrate existing knowledge and inputs into the intelligence process and delivery Provide actionable strategic insights and compelling recommendations ensuring the effective incorporation in the Company's plans and the delivery to key stakeholders Collaborate in cross-functional teams to the identification and evaluation of potential in-licensing/external opportunities in several therapeutic areas, indications and/or geographical expansion, providing recommendations on the scenario's challenges and opportunities Lead primary intelligence projects partnering with external providers/vendors Organize and moderate strategic workshops and war games Gather intelligence at main international congresses by highlighting business/commercial implications Support the creation of an internal CI newsletter/report and news/updates dissemination with related commercial/business implications Support Competitive Intelligence capability strengthening, sharing best practices and learnings with the local CI team at affiliate level
Experience Required
5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in Consulting or Competitive Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Medical Affairs, Strategy & Insights, Market Access, New Product Planning, Business Development functions.
Education
PhD/Master's Degree in Life Sciences
Master in Business/Marketing will be a plus.
Languages
Fluency in English (both spoken and written)
Technical Skills
Well-rounded knowledge of pharmaceutical drug development, regulatory and IP framework and business/marketing principles Ability of scientific literature search, review and understanding; knowledge of scientific and market intelligence database (e. g. CT. gov, Cortellis, Citeline, Alphasense) will be considered a plus Strong analytical skills Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Power Point) Previous experience in workshop/war games organization and moderation

Flexible solutions can be envisaged with at least 25% travel to the Headquarters in Parma
