Ebury is now looking for a Compliance Officer and MLRO based in Milan to assist and support Ebury's growth and ensure it continues its journey seamlessly without any disruptions in Europe.
The main purpose of this role is to assist in maintaining the integrity and compliance of the Italy office, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, reporting obligations and maintaining an open, transparent and effective relationship with our regulators in Italy and other jurisdictions where the company operates.
**What do we need**:
- A self-driven Compliance Officer with at least 2-5 years of relevant experience within the financial industry and who is an expert in regulatory (PSD2, MIFID2, etc) and AML compliance and has the ability to take ownership of parts of a Compliance framework in a fast-paced Fintech environment.
- Capability to design, build and implement a compliance framework to ensure the Company meets its regulatory responsibilities, including in AML;
- Contribute to Compliance processes by identifying opportunities for improved adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards;
- Contribute to projects for setting up new regulatory reporting or amending existing ones;
- Participate in the definition of functional specifications in compliance with regulatory requirements;
- Foster strong work relationships and collaboration with key partners (Legal, Risk, Human Resources and Compliance colleagues);
- Run wide-ranging analysis on organized crime investigations;
- Provide expertise for the high risk cases which are escalated from the business;
- Provide status updates and escalations to senior management when necessary;
- Contribute to projects for setting up new regulatory reporting or amending existing ones;
- Through a continuous improvement framework, ensuring that regulatory reporting production meets high standards for safety, quality and efficiency;
- Raise alerts, monitoring production deficiencies and following up on relevant remediation plans;
- Provide functional expertise for regulatory reporting matters to Compliance;
- Assist with ad-hoc queries from the business teams;
- Assist with external AML audits.
**Skills
- The person must demonstrate proven organizational and time management skills, have excellent communications skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to gain credibility fast and influence key stakeholders.
The working environment is fast paced, agile and highly results orientated so the individual must be comfortable working within this type of highly rewarding, dynamic environment.
- Good knowledge on Regulatory purposes;
- Ability to understand, explain and simplify (operational mode);
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to multi-task managing BAU and projects and work in a deadline driven environment;
- Ability to build, grow and maintain partnerships across regions, business partners and functions;
- Ability to take a risk-based approach to issues, think critically and ask difficult questions;
- Work and Communicate effectively with senior management, front office, Compliance and regulators.
- Fluent in English and Italian
