Morgan operates the Private Banking (PB) business in Italy via a branch of J. P. Morgan SE.
It covers the private banking needs of the Ultra High Net Worth segment providing investment advice, portfolio management and credit facilities.
**General Job Responsibility
Assist the Italian PB business team in managing compliance risks and to protect the reputation of the firm.
This position will be located in Milan, Italy.
You will cover primarily the Private Banking line of business in Italy and will be working closely with the Private Banking Regional Compliance Teams.
You will report to Italy Country Compliance Officer based in Milan and will also have a functional reporting line into the PB EMEA Compliance Team.
**Key Responsibilities
- Support the PB line of business for adherence to the CCOR framework.
- Work closely with the Italy PB line of business to develop and implement compliance plans and frameworks in line with the Global CCOR framework.
- Liaising with the PB Regional Compliance team to ensure consistent and best practice compliance procedures and controls are adhered to and implemented.
- Act as an integrated part of the EEA Country Compliance team.
- Assist the Line of Business on the regulatory impact analysis of new products, processes and policies and assisting in the design and implementation.
- Conduct line of business Compliance related training when necessary.
- Participate in scheduling, conducting, monitoring and enhancing the Global Compliance Monitoring & Testing Program.
- Monitor and ensure the regulatory control environment is effective.
- Interface with business senior management and discuss new or complex issues with local and regional compliance management.
- Identify potential concerns and control issues, determine the root cause of issues and ensure stakeholders develop and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist the Italy Country Compliance Officer in maintaining regulatory relationships and in managing regulatory exams.
- Implementing firm wide and local policies and practices including the code of conduct of the firm.
- Preparing and overseeing management and governance reports, as needed.
- Managing and coordinating consultation exercises and industry group discussions on new laws and regulations.
**Minimum Qualifications
- MBA or Bachelor's degree with professional certification preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years compliance experience preferably in private banking business or large banking organizations demonstrating solid EMEA-based private banking and local regulatory compliance knowledge, in particular in areas such as MiFID II, UCITS V, AIFMD, Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), MAR (Market Abuse Regulation) as well as related Consob and Ivass rules, AMLD5 and GDPR to be able to effectively support and drive JPMorgan Chase's Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) Program.
- Ability to summarize complex topics concisely and drive practical outcomes
- Understanding of corporate governance requirements and risk management and compliance principles.
- Strong experience working with Italian Regulators.
- Solid proficiency and experience in implementing compliance policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (Italian and English).
- Ability to think, plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized manner, prioritize, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong judgement and the ability to exercise sound judgement under pressure when faced with imperfect information
- Ability to work both independently and as a core team member.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills at all levels including with Senior levels.
