The key objectives of Technical Operations are safety, reliable flight operations and cost-efficient maintenance processes. Component Maintenance Services is a department within the Technical Operations responsible for maintaining aircraft mechanical, electrical and structural parts and components from various systems. To support our growing hydraulics and flight controls actuation product line, we are now looking for:
COMPONENT ENGINEER, COMPONENT MAINTENANCE to join our compact and dynamic Component engineering team whose main responsibility is to support and develop aircraft Component Maintenance processes, control and maintain related documentation and to follow and react on reliability metrics. As a Component engineer you will carry out engineering responsibilities to ensure that the quality and efficiency standards of component maintenance work are met. Part of the duties include customer communications and support, to serve the widening customer base of the Component Maintenance. The Component engineer reports to the Head of Component Maintenance.
Key Responsibilities: Production support: Provide technical support and instructions for component maintenance by assisting with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Customer interfacing: Act as a primary technical support contact for internal stakeholders as well as customers outside Finnair.
Process development: Plan and execute process improvements & training to enhance the shop production quality and capacity. Develop and enhance predictive maintenance practices together with customers and the OEM. Contribute to make vs. buy analysis and lead repair capability build-up projects for new products.
Equipment and documentation management: Keep up tooling and testers including respective documentation and follow Service Bulletins and other OEM documentation.
Quality and compliance: Follow aircraft component reliability in liaison with systems engineering. Interface with customers and OEMs to troubleshoot component repair issues. Manage the component manufacturer network for the latest maintenance data and ensure compliance with approved procedures and aviation authority regulations.
To succeed in this role, it is essential that you'll have: Relevant technical education preferable in the field of mechanical engineering.
Knowledge of hydraulic and electromechanical systems and their components.
Several years of experience with proven results in maintenance and/or engineering environment.
Good communication & coordination skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong teamwork, co-operation and out-of-the-box thinking skills.
A keen ability to adopt new technologies.
We also highly appreciate knowledge of aviation legislation, quality systems and processes as well as the ability to drive change.
