We need a tech-savvy and creative meteorologist to join our team.

If you degribICON for breakfast and set up WRF instances for lunch - and do all this with a certain panachewhile nibbling ERA5 - we want to hear from you!Responsibilities:Install, maintain, and tune WRF instances; Work with our engineering team to integrate weather data into our risk management platform; Use your coding skills to process and visualize data from weather APIs, or other georeferenced dataset as necessary; Working with the rest ofthe tech team to satisfy the product family weather forecasting needs; Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable codeDevelop and support software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancementsKeep up to date with the latest developments in weather forecasting; Requirements:Good, old fashioned forecasting skills; A Master's degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science and (ideally) at least one (1) year of experience, or; A Bachelors' degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science and (ideally) 2 years of experience; Direct experience with one or more weather forecasting model(s) and related tools such as WRF, DALES, NCL etcStrong coding skills in languages such as Python, R, or MATLABExperience in visualization and handling of georeferenced data, like NetCDF, CFmetadata convention, GRIB, csv, etc and related tools; Extras:A passion for aviation, skiing/mountaineering, sailing or other activities where weather is a critical safety aspect; An inquisitive mind and friendly disposition - we have a strong "no assholes" policy!Studies have shown that women, minorities, and POCs are less prone to apply to jobs even if they have most of the listed requirements, so please do apply even if you feel you're not a perfect fit.
