Your impact: The Construction Manager reports to the Jacobs Project Director or the Project Manager and has full authority for the execution of the construction operations at the jobsite.
The Construction Manager is the primary interface of all contractors and vendors relating to the construction of the facility.
The Construction Manager keeps high the focus on project delivery, improving safety and quality, working with HSE and Quality Manager, defining strategy and driving the construction team on site.
Scope of responsibilities: Promote initiatives regarding health and safety in the workplace, collaborating closely with the Jacobs HSE manager.
Collaborate with the Quality JI Department and representatives on site for the development and verification of specific procedures.
Participate in periodical Operational Project Reviews (OPR) and project review sessions.
Verify and develop "Pre-construction Planning" activities during different phases of project development.
Prepare necessary constructability reviews and early identification of problems.
Support Project Managers and Project Schedulers in developing project schedules.
Manage personnel assigned to construction sites in accordance with HRE Discipline.
Monitor and expedite the performance of the site team, analyzing signals of problems and promoting corrective actions.
Supervise and manage all aspects of field and construction operations.
Ensure timely completion of all critical construction activities.
Ensure field services personnel are trained and compliant with procedures.
Cooperate with the Cost Engineer for periodic updates of the TIC report.
Administrate changes to the contract scope of work.
Promptly resolve Requests for Information.
Ensure contractor work complies with project technical requirements.
Lead site weekly/daily coordination meetings and attend safety coordination meetings with contractors.
Provide final check of Field Variation Orders.
Here's what you'll need: 10+ years of experience as a field Construction Manager (knowledge of Pharmaceutical or Electronics projects is preferable).
Availability to work on site in the central part of Belgium.
Strong knowledge across all project disciplines.
Safety Management/Supervisor certification is an advantage.
Ability to evaluate criticality in a project.
Ability to manage a constructability review with Clients and Contractors.
Ability to run complex meetings.
Proficient computer skills (Office tools, 3D navigator – e. g. , Navisworks, schedule software).
Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with systems mechanical completion, testing, and commissioning.
Fluency in English.
