We are looking for a German speaker Contract Manager to be hired in the Business Unit Projects.

Prysmian Powerlink provides state-of-the-art solutions for High Voltage Underground and Submarine cable links in some of the world's most challenging environments.

This role can be based in Milano or Wuppertal / Würzburg (Germany)

The contract manager supports the organisation and project team in handling all contractual and related commercial aspects in connection with the contracts with the customers as well as subcontractors and vendors, during the entire projects life-cycle.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Managing the contracts lifecycle during project execution and warranty phases, including but not limited to: review and draft of amendments, contractual documents, renewal of contracts;

- Providing guidance and interpretation of contractual clauses and requirements;

- Support and champion the change management process.

This includes drafting and reviewing change orders, claims, back charges and penalties, defence of incoming claims vis-a-vis customers, subcontractors and key vendors;

- Safeguarding contractual obligations including tracking and timely issuance of notifications, monitoring of milestones and payments in cooperation with the project team;

- Focal point for promoting awareness on contracts provisions.

Prepare initial contract review, organise contract induction meetings, issue reports, interpretations and assessments on contracts;

- Cooperation and liaison with corporate functions, e. g.

finance, legal, compliance, IP on specific matters and possible disputes;

- Monitoring, drafting and reviewing all contractual correspondence between Prysmian and its customers as well as between joint venture and consortium partners and subcontractors/vendors;

- Verifying, in conjunction with dedicated departments, that all insurances and guarantees required by the contracts and subcontracts are in place and maintained;

- Assisting purchasing department in the negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and vendors.

Implement back-to-back subcontracts;

- Contributing to Project "close-out" activities with clients, partners, subcontractors, and major vendors ensuring all required certificates are duly issued / received e. g.

milestone completion certificates, handover certificate, acceptance certificate.

The activities described here are not exhaustive and the position holder can be asked by their superiors to take on further tasks appropriate to the position, taking into account the existing workload.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum requirements:

- Degree in law

- Availability to frequent business travels

- Knowledge of EPC suite of contracts

- Knowledge of cable or energy industry preferred

Minimum experience:

- Experience as contract manager or portfolio contract manager (min.

3-5 years PQE) with different customers and contractual frameworks.

- Proven track record in successfully preparing and negotiating contracts, amendments and variations.

- Significant participation in the creation and negotiation of subcontracts in an international environment and successful implementation of back-to-back conditions.

- Experience in dealing with multi-disciplinary teams in a technical working environment.

- In-depth experience in dealing with and minimizing project risks.

- Consistent achievement / improvement of projects financial targets.
