Contracts Counsel Public Sector
Who You'll Work With**:
You will be based in our Milan office as part of our legal department.
You will work directly with our associate general counsel based in Milan and will work closely with other lawyers in Europe and in the department.
You will liaise with a number of individuals within the firm (e. g.
partners, finance colleagues, corporate tax team, professional development and office and sector leadership, local administrative leaders) as well as outside counsel in Italy.
The global legal department is a diverse and dynamic organization within our firm headed up by the general counsel, with teams for each region including Europe.
The legal department provides comprehensive legal services and broad risk management support to the firm's leadership, consultants and non-consulting staff.
**What You'll Do**:
You will draft, review and negotiate specific types of contracts such as waiver letters, confidentiality agreements, statements of work, master consulting agreements, study-specific consulting agreements, private equity agreements, benchmarking agreements.
Your focus will be the public sector organizations (e. g. , national, regional, state, provincial and local governments—including ministries, agencies and regulators— multilateral organizations or other public bodies, and state-linked enterprises) as well as private sector companies.
You will provide our consultants with appropriate forms of agreement and legal advice on a variety of engagement-related legal issues, including assisting consulting teams with reviewing invitations to tender for public sector proposals and preparing proposals/tender responses.
You will advise on current contractual arrangements and supporting consulting teams with questions which may arise during the services period.
You will work with other experts internally in Finance, Risk and Compliance functions to guide on legal risks, questions and issues, as well as local RFP managers.
You will advise consulting teams on Firm policies and internal compliance procedures.
**Qualifications**:
- Qualification as a lawyer with 3+ years of professional experience at a law firm, in-house legal department, or organization with a public procurement law and contracts focus
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Italian - you will be working in the 2 languages - additional languages considered a strong plus
- Previous experience in public procurement law (diritto amministrativo) and private sector are a must-have.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including clear and effective writing and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to handle high volume of work efficiently, recognize priorities, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision in an extraordinarily fast-paced environment.
- Confident team player who is highly collaborative and flexible.
