Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No Offer Description Rotating electrical machines and static power converters are essential devices in modern industry, used in a wide range of industrial applications. The development and testing phase of an inverter requires the use of a test bench composed of two electrical machines: the target machine for the drive and a braking machine. An innovative test system involves the emulation of the electrical load experienced by the drive under test using a power amplifier capable of reproducing the dynamic behavior of the machine and the coupled mechanical load. To obtain a realistic representation of the electrical load, it is necessary to introduce power hardware in the loop system. The PHiL combines a platform for real-time simulation of the system model with a static power converter, making it possible to emulate the dynamic behavior of complex electrical systems.
