ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
This role is part of CORA Team based in Rome and is a great opportunity to learn and get fully involved in a multi-cultural, open environment.
As a External Affairs Intern you will have the opportunity to work on strategic topics as well as operational tasks right from the beginning and be part of a dynamic team contributing to the business results.
Be part of shaping, protecting and enhancing BAT Italy's regulatory and corporate position by building shared value with society and positioning BAT as a trusted thought leader for today and in the future. And also, be part of driving dynamic and engaging internal communications to connect, empower and energize.
Reports to: Regulatory Engagement Manager
Geographic Scope: Italy
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Support planning and execution of engagement tools incl.company events such as company conferences
- Support planning and execution of editorial plans, including corporate campaigns
- Support preparation of meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Drafting a variety of documents (presentations, correspondence, position papers, social media features)
- Review and track stakeholders mapping
- Analyze media output and prepare press review
- Work closely with the External Affairs team in the execution of routine/daily tasks

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor's degree in political science, law, Economics
- Naturally digital & able to professionally interact with tools such as Microsoft O365
- Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to balance a variety of detailed tasks and work efficiently under deadlines
- Excellent verbal communication skills and desire to build rapport with multiple teams and stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail and a high motivation to learn
- Positive attitude and desire to work collaboratively with a team
- Initiative and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensible documents and other information
- A commitment to the aims and values of BAT
- Fluency in Italian and English language
BENEFICIAL:
- Master's degree in law
- Minimum previous experience in External Affairs
- Fluent English language knowledge
