Country Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Country Manager to lead our Sales, Training, Events, Merchandising and Trade Marketing operations in Italy.
The Country Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, overseeing strategic initiatives, and providing leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams.
This role requires a strong understanding of the pharmacy channel in Italy, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of achieving targets and building successful teams.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Strategic Leadership**:_
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy to drive Sales, Training, Events, Merchandising and Trade Marketing initiatives in Italy.
- Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of business initiatives.
- Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and potential risks to formulate effective strategies and action plans.
- **Business Growth**:_
- Drive business growth by implementing effective sales promotions and marketing strategies aligned with the brand goals and objectives.
- Oversee the planning and execution of consumer demand generation events (both in pharmacies and outside the pharmacy) to promote our products and increase market share.
- Develop and manage training programs for pharmacy staff and sales agents to enhance their product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
- **Sales and Marketing Management**:_
- Manage and optimize Field Training activities to maximize sales performance within SELL-IN and SELL-OUT priorities.
- Manage and optimize Field Marketing, merchandising, and trade marketing activities to maximize brand visibility and sales performance.
- Drive the planning and execution of small (in pharmacy events with brand Ambassadors) and large consumer events/fair/sampling.
- Collaborate with the local distributor's key stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and ensure effective distribution strategies.
- Monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, and consumer trends to adapt sales and marketing strategies as needed.
- **Team Leadership**:_
- Build and lead a high-performing field training, merchandising and event management and brand ambassador team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, innovation, and a strong work ethic.
- Set clear performance objectives, monitor performance, and provide timely feedback and recognition.
- **Performance Analysis and Reporting**:_
- Monitor sales performance, market share, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Analyse sales data and market insights to generate actionable reports and recommendations for senior management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales and marketing activities.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
A master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Italy.
- Strong understanding of the pharmacy channel in Italy, including various stakeholder and market dynamics, and customer behaviour.
- Strong understanding of the Italian Pharmaceutical distribution model, its business fundamentals, key players and regulations.
- Excellent understanding of sales Agent and Sales Rep management to design and implement incentivisation programs for over 100 sales agents.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve targets and drive results.
- Demonstrated experience in driving business growth and implementing successful sales and marketing strategies.
- Solid knowledge of field marketing, merchandising, and trade marketing activities in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; work experience abroad is a plus.
- Ability to navigate a complex and changing business environment, demonstrating adaptability, resilience, and decision-making skills.
