Job Summary

The Customs & Inbound Manager will have overall responsibility for all matters relating to Customs in Italy.

He/she will be responsible for ensuring that the facility is well positioned to react to any concerns relating to the entry or exit of goods (bonded and non-bonded) into our premises and any related charges.

Ensure that all the operation transacted inside Flex bonded warehouse and Flex VAT deposit are compliant with Italian/European laws and regulations.

Is also responsible to ensure compliance with Italian fiscal laws and regulations related to the transportation documents and compliance with the international trade requirements.

In addition is responsible to ensure inbound Operational activities are compliant with Customer SOP requirements.

What a typical day looks like:

- Coordinate the activities of the external Customs Broker.

- Resolve any issues around Customs Declarations and Transportation.

- Create and establish staff and management structures to achieve optimum efficiency.

- Ensure all relevant legislation and customs requirements are strictly adhered to (this will involve liaising with relevant authorities meeting import regulations).

- Provides a strong input to the development of functional strategy and define the business plan and policies for own area that will deliver functional and operational objectives.

- Co-ordinate the activities of the Customs & Inbound teams ensuring a common direction is maintained and there is accurate awareness of the activities across the goals and objectives ensuring compliance.

- Coordinate and manage Customs and Inbound teams ensuring a common compliance direction is maintained

- Promptly resolve any issue on customs declarations and on transport documents compliance

- Ensure a good trade compliance training is maintained among various internal depts

- Ensure connection to Flex compliance and customer

- Excellent computer skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, Power Point

- Knowledge of International/ European Customs laws/regulations and import compliance policies, documentation, and processes

- Detailed knowledge of Harmonised Tariff System, Italian Customs Procedures and VAT deposit

- Full understanding of Incoterms

- Fluent in written and spoken Italian and English
