Job ID: 272692Date posted: 13/01/2025What You'll Need To Have:Previous experience of import and export from a national environmentGood knowledge about import and export related rules and regulationsPrevious experience from dealing with external authoritiesExperience of working in a matrix organizationExperience from working in a process-oriented organisationExperience of adapting to different styles of working to get the best out of all the teamStrong ability to read and understand written and spoken English and ItalianWhat You'll Be Doing Day To Day:Take responsibility for local import and export in accordance with delegation from Company Management including securing efficient and effective internal controls and compliance to internal and external rules and regulationsObtain and maintain needed import and export permissionsManage and maintain daily interaction with customs authorities as well as manage and control external audits and local certification proceduresContinuously evaluate current ways of working, identify control weaknesses, develop solutions and implement improvementsSupport the establishment of one common annual business plan for customs operations and deliver agreed activitiesEnsure local competence level in accordance with responsibilities including back-up and succession planningTake active part in the development of the customs operations IT landscape and provide support in the establishment of an IT/IS StrategyMonitor changes in local rules and legislations and communicate events with potential business impact internally in due timeImplement and maintain local customs & trade solutions such as bonded warehouse & Free Trade ZonesEnsure timely and correct filing of pre-arrival notifications when it falls under the responsibility of the importing companyEnsure efficient and reliable handling of local customs related documentsActively identify and manage risks related to customs operationsSupport all the different national IKEA organization (IID, IMS, RETAIL, PURCHASING) with education program and mentoring in the customs and tax regulation field to increase awareness, cross functional capacity to work resulting in a smooth and cheaper customs flowMaintain and develop relationships with National Industrial Unions, Government Agencies, Brokers regarding Customs and sanitary compliance regulationWe're the team behind the scenes that make the IKEA products available to the many people.
