Customs Services Team Lead

In 2020 we joined forces with Maersk and we are closely working together to establishing a joint digital operating model. Work within a team to coordinate and organise the full range of customs services, starting with order acceptance, registering the order, collecting all relevant documents until the release of goods and customs clearance. A Team Lead will receive extensive internal and external training as well as an online training for customs legislation and foreign trade, as well as daily support in order to create a good atmosphere of work, to assist winning new customer with Customs knowledge as well as to attend customer's request and complains.

- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all Import & Export declarations and Transit Movements in the team
- Make sure customs clearances are done in time by implementing improvements in productivity in the team
- Attend customer complaints and requests
- Ensure to support and help others in finding solutions to problems
- Monitor team workload and help control the workload as well as highlight any risk to Department Manager, including Compliance & Training Team for any Compliance or Training requirements
- To ensure all Operating Manuals are reviewed regularly and updated where required.
Ensure that work carried out complies with standard as defined in the operating Manuals.
To ensure the Quality Assurance Procedures are up todate and clearly reflect current working practices.
Ensuring that all customs authority requirements are met or exceeded.
Continuously identify waste in processes, delivering improvements which will positively impact productivity (production) levels.
Maintain a first-class business relationship with all customers and internal stakeholders.
Support all growth initiatives and actively participate in creating innovative solutions.
Be an active team member who will exchange knowledge and expertise.
Ensure training is completed to allow you to cover all accounts
- Proactively lead or actively participate in Customs related projects
- Engender team spirit and staff engagement
- Deputise in the absence of Customs Manager/Senior Customs Manager
- Carry out any reasonable request made by GMT (global management team) and ALT (area leadership team)Key Success Indicators:
- Customer requirements are met or exceeded (Internal & External)
- Statutory requirements met or exceeded
- Increase in productivity (production) levels YOY improvements
- Your ability to meet deadlines / Team ability to meet deadlines.

- Local customs authorities' knowledge - to include classification, reclaims, websites
- Customs Broker License
- Outlook and APM Web Mail
Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PPT, Teams, SharePointSoft Skills:
- Strong customer-facing and interaction skills with high-level of customer orientation
- Supervisory Skills/Management Skills
- Team engagement and support
- The ability to work under pressure to deadline
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all organizational levels with a focus on collaboration and network behavior
- Good communication skills in English
- Support Trainees and Jr CPAs in their training and development as well as sharing knowledge with the team
