Cys Assistant Director Nf-04
Duties**:
- Serves as a Child and Youth Services (CYS) Assistant Director of a very large CYS Program with responsibility for assisting the supervisor in the operation of an assigned CYS program IAW all applicable regulations and standards.
- Ensures assigned staff follow risk management procedures.
Monitors and analyzes adult/participant ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing policies are enforced.
Prepares work schedules for assigned staff to meet ratio and group size requirements.
- Serves as a member of the Installation Child and Youth Evaluation Team to ensure compliance with health, fire, safety, facility and program regulatory requirements and CYS baseline standards.
- Supervises and evaluates employees based on established performance standards as required.
Provides appropriate staff professional recognition and/or disciplinary action.
- Assists supervisor in developing program budget, and manages assigned program areas to budget.
Conducts written analyses of budget variances and prepares justification for funding of program resource requirements.

- Regular and Recurring Contact with Children
- In consideration of COVID-19, personnel within this area routinely wear personal protective equipment (cloth face coverings, latex gloves, and face shields) while performing their regular duties.
**Qualifications**:
1.
Successful completion of an undergraduate Degree that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in the fields appropriate to the position, which directly relates to the appropriate CYS field consistent with:
- For positions in Child Development Facilities:The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled.
OR Combination of education and experience.
- For positions in Child Development Facilities:The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled.
Highly qualifying criteria:
- Have at least 2 years of experience managing a CYS Child Development Center (CDC) or DoD CDC facility-based program (with children ages 0-5).
- Demonstrated experience with successful completion of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation process.
**Qualifying experience must be clearly described in resume.

**Education**:
Transcripts must indicate course title, credits earned, date and type degree awarded, field, program, etc.
