Data Analytics Project Manager

For a leading company in the industrial and medical gases business in Europe, we are looking for a Data Analytics Project Manager. We are looking for a skilled and motivated professional with strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as an understanding of standard business drivers. Working with various IT and business teams will be required to ensure reporting solutions in accordance with business needs. This role will be key to lead and coordinate these key projects and will provide the candidate with many opportunities to work with key stakeholders and shape the way we use data across the organization. The new position will be located in Milan, although his/her scope will be European. He/she will be part of the European Enterprise Application team: it covers BI and Data Analytics requirements across Europe (6 regions - 12 countries), and will report directly to the Data Analytics Manager. Main Responsibilities: As a data expert: Help improve products and business decisions by making the most of their data. Develop a deep understanding of the technical solutions developed and synthesize complex insights into easy to understand and workable recommendations that business users can easily extract and perform. Collect the needs of business users, register properly and participate in prioritization based on critical criteria, resources, and strategy. Collect and prepare data, often iteratively, helping to identify business data needed to produce and prioritize the most useful information and partner with data management and IT teams to guide and implement organizational awareness of data management. Provide established guidelines, standards, methodologies, and conventions. Possess and prepare interactions with non-technical stakeholders. As a project manager: Participate in European projects, local strategic projects, and local ad-hoc projects being the main point of contact. Plan project scope and establish measurable goals. Establish project timelines and manage the project, including escalations, to complete the project on schedule and within budget. Organize the project kickoff and process workshop. Interview end-users to determine the need for data, reporting, analysis, and data quality. Work with Product Owner(s) to shape the end-to-end product strategy and determine business value. Work closely with the Data Analytics Manager and all other team members to plan, manage, and deliver releases. Attend project governance meetings and scrum meetings, if applicable. Define, implement, and track performance metrics once the solution enters production. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with data warehousing and reporting in an enterprise environment. Knowledge in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management. Official certifications will be a plus. Demonstrated product management experience in defining and developing a new digital product or service will be a plus. Experience in international environments. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases. BI Development background – ideally Tableau or PowerBI. Knowledge in Cloud (or in its absence, demonstrable experience in Big Data projects). Relevant experience with ERP systems. Experience with Incident and Management Solutions: ServiceNow, Jira, Monday, Project, etc. Fluent written and spoken in English. Spanish speaking is a plus. A problem solver with the ability to lead the team to find a solution and ensure progress, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Positive and empathetic attitude. Passion to challenge the status quo and find new solutions and drive out-of-the-box ideas – loves and embraces change. Understands business value drivers, workflow reengineering, design thinking, and digital product management. Ideally manages trade-offs between business goals, data limitations, and risk management.
