Data Analytics Specialist – Hydrogen

We are looking for a Data Analytics Specialist that will support our hydrogen initiatives through advanced analytics across two core areas:
Electrolysis Programme: Oversee data collection during testing, evaluate and adapt third-party machine-learning models, and provide strategic insights on model implementation. Techno-Economic Modelling: Maintain, enhance, and utilize techno-economic optimization models to inform strategic decisions and support project proposals. This role requires strong quantitative skills, proficiency in Python, familiarity with optimization and machine learning techniques, and the ability to translate complex analytical results into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities Data Analytics & Modelling Evaluate third-party monitoring and predictive-maintenance models for electrolysis cells. Develop or adapt advanced analytical models using machine learning and optimization techniques. Maintain, expand, and apply techno-economic optimization models for hydrogen projects. Data Management Define and oversee the data collection strategy during electrolysis testing and operation phases. Perform analysis of sensor data (e. g. , temperature, current density) and operational performance data to inform model improvements. Strategic Analysis & Reporting Provide data-driven recommendations regarding the adoption or in-house development of analytics tools. Prepare reports communicating findings and recommendations. Collaboration & Communication Collaborate closely with MAIRE strategy, engineering and technology teams and product/programme managers. Define instrumentation and digitalization requirements. Document analytical methodologies and deliver training to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Profile & Required Skills: Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python. Good knowledge of optimization methodologies and machine-learning techniques. Experience with SQL or database management tools is advantageous. Proficiency with Excel (advanced level preferred). Industry & Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with energy system optimization, digitalization, and instrumentation is highly beneficial. Understanding of electrochemical processes or sensor data (e. g. , temperature, current density) is a plus. Education & Experience: Master's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, or related quantitative fields. Ideally 3-6 years' relevant experience in data analytics, optimization modelling, or similar quantitative roles within energy or industrial contexts. Soft Skills: Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently. Languages: Fluent in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Italian is advantageous.
