Job Title: Data Center Engineer Location: Milan, Lombardy, Italy Responsibilities: Utilize OTDR, LSPM, BER, OSA (Optical Spectrum Analysis) and other fiber testing/cleaning tools for testing, configuration, reporting, provisioning, and installation of cables or optics for new circuits. Manage physical cabling, cable management, and northbound cabling (Fiber/Copper/Power). Support network and server teams by assisting with rack and stack and running cables. Conduct labelling, patching, and asset tagging activities, performing installations as needed through physical or network mediums. Break Fix/Technical Task List: Test fiber and identify high loss/break fibers using OTDR/LSPM/VFL. Clean fibers and replace faulty optical cables. Install loop backs, Optical Spectrum Analysis, and perform BER testing/MPO fiber testing. Insert/remove media, replace defective components, and assist with fault diagnosis and investigation with RMA Processing. Configure remote access, perform basic storage array configuration, and replace faulty cables. Reboot routers, servers, storage devices, or other equipment, and manage tape maintenance. Work Experience: 5-8 years of experience in Data center infrastructure, enterprise IT infrastructure, or equivalent. 3 years of experience in server provisioning, troubleshooting, and testing. 3 years of experience in fiber cabling, testing of Optical fiber cable using OTDR, LSPM, and other fiber test tools, as well as BER test, OSA, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of low-voltage electrical systems (AC/DC) and Ethernet cabling. Equivalent Qualifications: Education: BSc. degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent associate degree (A. A. ) from a three-year college or technical school with an emphasis in electronics required; bachelor's degree preferred. Certification: CCNA, Network, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE or equivalent with fiber testing certification.
