AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.

We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

Key job responsibilities

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

Setting and maintaining the highest standard for safety and actively promoting a world-class safety culture. Driving improvements in key performance metrics for large scale Data Centres across multiple AWS owned and Co-location sites. Delivering 100% uptime on all customer supporting infrastructure. Strategic planning and execution of all corrective and preventative maintenance activities on mission-critical infrastructure. Managing strong technical teams and ensuring operational excellence and career development. Successful delivery of strategic projects on critical infrastructure. Managing vendor performance and conducting regular performance reviews. Adopting and planning corporate risk strategy. Planning and managing Critical Event Response readiness. Managing relationships within complex organizational matrices. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering discipline or demonstrable equivalent (lesser qualification + equivalent work experience). 5+ years' experience in a high-volume mission-critical operational environment. First-hand knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational performance. Very good command of English. Full EU/ IT driving license. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 10 years relevant industry related experience. Demonstrate key electrical and mechanical competencies and theory. Knowledge of safe electrical practice according to relevant guidelines. Strong working knowledge of Data Center infrastructure, including UPS and backup generator systems.
