Data Manager For The Sea Landings Project
Overview:
- In 2020 MSF OCB has handed over the responsibility for the implementation of their Operations in Italy to MSF Italy.
To handle the new projects, MSF Italy has established a new Department of Programmes, composed by a Humanitarian Affairs unit, a Medical unit and an Operations unit which includes the projects. _
- Within the areas of potential intervention, MSF Italy has identified operational needs in Rome with a focus on the marginalized migrant women in informal settlements, and in Palermo metropolitan area with a focus on migrants victims of intentional violence (ViV). _
The Sea Landings Project aims to support the people landing in Italy to ensure they have prompt access to healthcare, with timely identification and successive follow up of individuals with medical conditions (health and mental health), including continuity of care for those rescued at sea.
**Responsibilities**:
**Main Purpose
Ensure completion of all activities related to medical data entry and data management into the mission database.
Supervise, organise and plan the activity of Data Entry officers/operators, as well as identify their technical needs in order to provide a good service support and reliability of the data collected.
Analysis and interpretation of data.
**Accountabilities
- Supervise, organise and plan the activity of Data Entry officers to have a reliable record of medical activity performed, as well as identify their /technical support needs in order to provide a good service support and reliability of the data collected.
- Ability to design and implement system necessary to collect, maintain and analyze data
- Ability to verify data inputs and correct errors
- Knowledge of database construction and management methods
- Ensure collation and entry of all data identified by project managers for collection (e. g.
morbidity, psychological medical assistance, socio-legal information as well as the referral information system) into the appropriate data management system while ensuring quality of data
- Ensuring all data collected and entered to databases is consistently accurate and complete.
Being responsible for ensuring that quality control queries of the databases are followed up, ensuring identification of data entry errors and corrections.
- Do quality control data officers' performance on regular basis
- Know and ensure proper use of software used for recording.
The knowledge of Power apps and Power Bi will be required.
- Ability to resolve data inputs, retrieval problems and design solutions
- Ensure accuracy of the medical data entered into the mission's database on a regular basis, according to MSF protocols and carry out regular back-ups.
- Provide technical support to data entry officers/operators in project sites and give response to their training needs.
- Provide regular statistical reports and data extraction for the medical team as well as informing the superior of any missing information, major changes or big differences in data
**MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
A referral information management system (RIMS) has been set up in order to synchronise patient data transmission and enabling patients to receive assistance and protection according to each individual's specific needs.
Data should be correctly entered into the system as this is essential to streamline information sharing, particularly the follow-up of people.
Qualifications:
**Profile and qualifications
**Education
- Essential proven computer literacy, secondary education or qualifications either in administration, data entry or in statistics.
Degree in Information and Technology (IT) desirable. .
**Experience**:
- Essential MSF working experience
- Essential previous experience of at least 2 years in a relevant and similar position
**Languages
- Essential fluency in Italian (C1/B2) and in English (B2).
- Knowledge of French is an asset

- Desirable: knowledge of employment laws and administrative practices in Italy

**Conditions
**Duty Station**: Based in the MSF Italy Rome office, with potential travelling to the field.
**Compensation and benefits**:
- Health Insurance: health insurance will be granted through the Italian National Health Care System plus an extra medical insurance (Sanimpresa) which covers medical costs and an extra general insurance (Assicurazione Generali) that covers for medical expenses for illness and hospitalization, permanent invalidity and death (100k).
- The staff will be entitled to a luncheon voucher worth €5 for each day worked for the entire period of his/her contract.
