Data Protection Officer
The Data Protection Officer (DPO) works within the Local Data Protection Office with the aim to ensure compliance with data protection obligations pursuant EU Regulation 679/2016 ("GDPR"), other legislations on personal data and support ING in global programs with impact on personal data. Key Responsibilities: Support and monitor the implementation of local and global data protection programs ensuring compliance to GDPR looking for an excellent customer experience; Monitoring compliance with GDPR, Local Laws, other Union or Member State data protection laws ensuring compliance by the Bank and its services with regulatory data protection requirements; Working closely with Executive Members, Country Manager, Information Security, Legal, Compliance, NonFinancial Risks function, Audit and the Business Stakeholders also cooperating with Data Protection Functions across the Group; Acting as point of contact for the Data Protection Supervisory Authorities; Advising on strategic projects, tenders, supplier/outsourcer contracts and product launches; Working synergistically with IT/Security functions to analyze and address technical and organizational requirements (privacy by design & by default) on IT systems and infrastructures; Providing day-to-day data protection advice, acting as point of contact for privacy issues; Supervise and assess data breaches, working to identify root causes, mitigate risks and prevent reoccurrence; Horizon scanning on privacy topics and ensuring business readiness; Supervise and monitor the creation and maintenance of data-related policies and standards, on effective implementation and reporting; Supervise and monitor the record of processing activities and provide advice on data protection risk analysis and data protection impact assessments both on processes and IT assets; Supervise and monitor the data subject rights requests and complaints; Strengthen communication across the different areas of the Bank to ensure that personal data become a key asset in the business processes; Provide expert advice when it comes to incident management, data breach and data subjects' rights requests. Experience and qualifications: You have experience of 7 years as DPO and/or data protection lead with legal / compliance / computer science background; Degree in Law or in computer science; Master or equivalent post university specialization in data protection or computer science (preferred); CIPP/E or equivalent certification strongly recommended. Technical, language and other specialized skills: Strong knowledge on data protection laws and regulations both at local and EU level; Solid and proved knowledge on information technology and computer science; Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and privacy management tools; Excellent interpersonal and listening orientation; Excellent in English both oral and written.
