DNAswitch, a biotech spin-off of the University of Padova, is seeking a bioinformatics scientist to join our team in developing an innovative gene therapy for Huntington's Disease (HD).

Our research focuses on targeting the MTF1 transcription factor, a promising therapeutic candidate identified through genomic screenings, with the goal of mitigating neurodegeneration in HD models.

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing transcriptomic data from bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), as well as spatial transcriptomics, to identify disease-related molecular signatures and potential biomarkers for therapeutic efficacy.

The project involves the differentiation of human iPSCs into medium spiny neurons and 3D striatal organoids, followed by high-throughput omics profiling to characterize HD pathology and evaluate the effects of gene therapy interventions.

We are looking for candidates with a PhD or at least 2-year experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field, with strong expertise in RNA sequencing analysis, biomarker discovery, and multi-omics data integration.

Fluency in a programming language (Python and R) is requested.

Experience with machine learning approaches for "omics" analysis and familiarity with gene therapy applications will be highly valued.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of biotech and academic research, contributing to a project with high translational potential.

The position is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

The salary ranges between 32, 000 - 40, 000 euros/year, depending on experience.
