**WHO WE ARE

To further develop its Research Data Management capabilities and strengthen international collaboration within the European Research Area, IIT has been granted European funding under the Coordinated Support Actions Skills4EOSC (GA 101058527) and DCitizens (GA 101079116).

Skills4EOSC aims to build skills needed for the successful implementation of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), through the creation of an international network of competence centers in Open Science and Data Management, and training communities of researchers and data stewards.

DCitizens aims at studying new digital tools for empowering citizens and facilitating public access to services and data.

**YOUR TEAM

We are looking for a Data Steward that will work in tasks of workpackage (WP) 6 of Skills4EOSC and WP5 of DCitizens, building on existing expertise at IIT and within the partners' networks.

Therefore, this job will provide you with a unique opportunity to network with diverse groups of stakeholders and build connections within the two consortia.

As a professional figure that bridges data management and research in data science - machine learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), you will be working jointly within the Open Science and Research Data Management support, in the Research Organization Directorate coordinated by Dr. Francesca Cagnoni, and the Pattern Analysis and Computer Vision Research Line, led by Dr. Alessio Del Bue.

**YOUR JOB

You will contribute to develop FAIR practices within the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data science research domain and to stimulate their uptake.

In particular, you will develop tools and guidelines for data stewardship in AI research, and maximize their dissemination and adoption through international networking and training of researchers and other professionals across Europe.

Your main tasks will be:

- Conduct research to scope existing FAIR data practices in AI research and identify key challenges;

- Develop tools and guidelines for FAIR data stewardship in AI research;

- Engage communities of researchers in adopting common practices for FAIR data in AI;

- Train researchers and research support staff (train-the-trainer approach) on the developed tools, guidelines and practices.

**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Have a PhD (desirable) or a Master Degree in STEM and demonstrated experience in machine learning or AI research

- Have experience in coding and software development

- Have a good understanding of research data management and the FAIR guiding principles for scientific data management/stewardship

- Enjoy working collaboratively, also with diverse stakeholder groups, but is also comfortable with taking initiative and work independently

- Have excellent communication skills

- Have excellent command of English

**ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

- Previous experience or demonstrated interest in data management, possibly including data modeling, standards, repositories

- Have training experience, especially in train-the-trainer approaches

- Have excellent people skills, cultural and organizational sensitivity and are able to motivate and inspire others

- Have experience of participating in complex projects

- Have an understanding of Open Science and research data landscapes within Europe
