Development Department The Development team is responsible for the entire process flow of delivering the physical data centers from shovel-ready state through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, and management along the way. The team also manages Vantage's build partners to success through technical feedback and review, and actively participating in the review of schedule and budget. Our Development Teams are given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process, ensuring key stakeholders are engaged in the decision-making process to align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics.
Position Description Vantage is looking for an ambitious Senior Project Manager to drive excellence in project management, systems use, standardization, and coordination efforts across a wide spectrum of ongoing construction projects. Must be able to foster a positive and collaborative working environment. This role is based in Milan.
Essential Job Functions Establish the procedure for communication between the wider Vantage team, the consultant team, and Contractors and ensure that this procedure is observed at all times. Establish the Change Management Process for the project and manage the process by liaising with the Vantage team, consultant team, and Contractors in clarifying all necessary scope, justification, and technical detail. Manage the Vantage team, consultant team, and Contractor to establish all key project processes to ensure the project's delivery and monitor these processes, reporting and making recommendations to the Construction Director. Manage the Vantage team, consultant team, and Contractors to establish, review, and regularly update the Project Risk Register. Prepare and issue for the Construction Director's approval a monthly Project Manager's CSA & MEP report, weekly status update reports, and provide input into other stakeholder reports and presentations as may be required. Proactively manage and monitor the performance of the consultant team, Contractor, and vendors and report to the Construction Director. Proactively lead the wider VANTAGE team, consultant team, and coordinate the preparation of alternative viability studies, feasibility studies, sensitivity analyses, and investment appraisals. Support discussions with neighbors and other third parties, including logistics plans and delivery schedules. Review the General Contractor's Construction Plan, Site Logistics Plan, Health & Safety Plan, and Quality Plan prior to construction start. Lead the wider VANTAGE team and the consultant team and establish a structure and procedure for quality management. Proactively contribute with the client and the consultant team and advise on methods of progressing construction works prior to the execution of the Building Contract. Monitor and report to the Construction Director on the procurement progress status and actively mitigate upcoming challenges. Assess the labor schedules from each specialist subcontractor to analyze the volume of staff on site, facilities, and potential congestion impacts. Lead the project site teams, the consultant team, and the Contractor for Value Engineering exercises and related optioneering/feasibility studies. Ensure that all works are completed in line with Vantage HSE requirements. Undertake regular Site inspections and obtain progress and quality reports from the consultant team and the Contractor. Agree all test certificates and statutory and non-statutory approvals required from the Professional Team and the Contractor. Manage the consultant team and the Contractor to prepare reports to the Construction Director on the implications of any proposed variations. Liaise with the VANTAGE Operations team, the consultant team, and the Contractor and prepare, manage, and maintain a handover plan. Lead and manage all parties to ensure they prepare Substantial/Practical Completion documentation. Job Requirements Bachelor of Science in Construction/Engineering or equivalent experience. 8+ years of experience in project management in the construction industry. Expected travel is approx. 10%, but may grow and evolve over time. Italian language mandatory + At least B-level of English. Data center experience preferred. We operate with No Ego and No Arrogance.
