No Offer Description The research towards innovative solutions to reduce noise emissions from aircraft engines plays a strategic role for ecological transition and air-traffic sustainability.
Acoustic liners (with locally-reacting behaviour) currently employed do not satisfy the guidelines of the European Commission's FlightPath 2050 Vision regarding noise pollution abatement in the projected increase of air traffic.
Advanced equivalent formulation (currently employed in the design of metamaterials and metafluids) will be integrated into sophisticated numerical optimization techniques (based on classical FE models and/or reduced metamodels) for the design of non-locally reacting liners.
Liner prototypes with non-local behaviours will be realized through 3D printing.
