For Lincotek Equipment in Collecchio (PR) we're searching for a qualified and resourceful Design Engineer: ABOUT THE JOB The Design Engineer must have experience in a manufacturing sector with increasing responsibilities in the study and design of customized industrial plants on order.
Excellent knowledge of design methods, using them for project management in terms of respecting deadlines, quality, costs, and continuous improvement.
She/He will actively participate in the market launch of new products and processes within the set timeframes and budget limits.
She/He will apply a Lean approach to design, introducing actions aimed at continuous improvement.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure that all parameters related to safety, quality, delivery, and costs for the organization are met and are trending in the right direction.
Proper production preparation, quality, and timely precision through the implementation of continuous improvement are essential.
Develop the project for assigned orders by collaborating with the client and the internal organization.
Read, analyze, and discuss the specifications requested by the client, translating them into a customized design and turning decisions into actions.
Dimension and define the production cycle of mechanical and structural components that are part of the design.
Work to complete projects on time and within budget.
Develop, review, apply, and maintain the technical dossier for the order.
Prepare and manage the project WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) for assigned orders.
Interface with other company areas, clients, and suppliers for the technical and realization aspects of the orders.
Implement and maintain the corrective actions necessary to achieve customer satisfaction.
Participate in defining project objectives in terms of safety, quality, delivery, and costs.
Define preliminary layouts to support the development of new projects in the commercial pipeline.
Set priorities based on customer needs and workload.
Participate in continuous improvement and promote a positive environment for employees and community engagement.
Perform all tasks in accordance with all company policies, including adherence to good safety practices.
Train staff.
Perform any other tasks that may be assigned to him/her.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A Mechanical or Industrial Engineering bachelor's degree or over 10 years equivalent experience is required.
SKILLS: Proven experience in the mechanical design of plants and complex assemblies.
Deep knowledge of design methods and tools, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
Understanding of manufacturing technologies for components and mechanical parts (e. g. , machining, stamping, casting, etc. ).
Knowledge of regulations applied to the construction of industrial plants and their effective application in design.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, be able to read and write fluently in English, and have the ability to interact with all levels of customers, including technical managers.
Must possess the ability to analyze situations and set priorities, and make effective decisions.
Excellent listening skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
Able to manage work independently with the primary goal of customer satisfaction, both internal and external.
Naturally predisposed to teamwork, focused on achieving team objectives.
Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret designs and specifications.
Ability to read, interpret, and write procedures and technical documents.
The position requires experience, initiative, ingenuity, and the ability to work independently to produce the highest level of quality and productivity according to established standards.
Self-motivated and multitasking oriented.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment.
The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computes, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday with flexible hours between 8am to 5:30pm, with additional hours as business needs necessitate.
TRAVEL Occasional overseas and domestic travel may be required to support projects and customers.
