Design Responsible Engineer (DRE) EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) systemsEGRs are very important systems to improve efficiency and reduce emissions for both Diesel and Gasoline engines.
EGR DRE is responsible for the design and development of the EGR systems.
EGR systems are complex, and the role requires deep knowledge in mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, materials, and engine combustion.
The role requires teamwork skills, collaborating with all the departments involved in validation, and leadership for the interaction with suppliers.
Responsibilities EGR DRE is the design responsible for EGR systems. Manages 3D models and 2D drawings, releasing them in the company database system within timing agreed with the coordination area. Leads the interaction with suppliers, including technical reviews during sourcing activities and filling in the relative scorecard sharing ratings with the Chief Engineer. Guides design reviews with suppliers and other departments. Maintains direct links with reference people of Virtual Validation, Manufacturing, Testing, Labs, and Suppliers to finalize components according to standards and norms. Ensures packaging, performance, timing, and cost targets by using proper solutions and processes. Responsible for DFMEA and DVP&R (Design Validation Plan & Reports) in collaboration with all other technical powertrain functions and suppliers.
Responsible for the application of design norms and drafting SOR (Statement of Requirements). Acts as the leading expert for field issue root cause analysis and solution identification. Basic Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or extensive experience in engine design (minimum 3 years). Knowledge of combustion engine functionality and control, thermal exchange, materials and corrosion, fluid dynamics, and structural mechanics. Good knowledge of engine and engine systems layout. Advanced component design and process knowledge. Advanced CAD usage knowledge (UG). Advanced drawing dimensioning (ASME, ISO) and tolerances knowledge. Good knowledge of design procedures and change management (KCDS, DFMEA, CRF, CRB, etc.
). Good Office knowledge. Strong interpersonal communication and team/leadership skills/experience. Preferred Qualifications: Deep knowledge of EGR systems. Deep knowledge of engine combustion and functional parameters. Deep knowledge of materials (stainless steel) and manufacturing processes (casting, stamping, brazing, etc.
