Job Description Summary At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. The Design Suppliers Engineering Quality specialist leads the Design Suppliers monitoring and control process within Engineering. To ensure a robust control of Design Suppliers is strong required to fulfill with Authorities and Customers Requirements and it is one of the core processes of DOA in the context of EASA framework; it is also tightly linked with Safety Management Systems. Covering this role you will have a wide view on various engine programs and products, and you will interact with many roles and functions across the company (i. e. System Engineers, Quality, Sourcing, Airworthiness, ); you will also gain valuable knowledge of the wide spectrum of Suppliers of Engineering Tasks. Essential Responsibilities: The person in charge of this role will be working transversally across the various programs (NPI and legacy) in the following tasks: Lead the qualification process of the Design Suppliers and maintain the qualified list register. Lead the periodical risk-based assessment of outsourced engineering activities to support the Design Suppliers Audit Program. Perform audits of Design Suppliers and coordinate the definition of corrective and preventive action plans originated by audits and ensure their embodiment. Lead the periodical cross-functional reviews on Design Suppliers with all company functions involved in the process (i. e. System Engineers, Quality, Sourcing, Airworthiness, ). Own the Design Suppliers monitoring and control process and maintain the related procedure supporting improvements, ensuring alignment with Authorities and Customers requirements, contributing to the awareness initiatives towards the Engineering team to promote compliance with procedures. Support Engineering functions and Quality during third-party audits (Civil and Military Regulators, Customers, Consortiums, ) concerning the Design Suppliers monitoring and control process. Provide support to the design teams whenever there is a Design Supplier issue related to the various impacted processes (example: Configuration Control, Specs configuration, requirements management, tagging). Lead the definition of working arrangements with Design Suppliers when required to ensure joint coordination between GE Avio and Design Suppliers on the impacted processes (example: configuration management, Record Keeping, Specifications management, SMS, ), and support the release of Engineering Quality specifications for Design Suppliers. Qualifications/Requirements Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university (Mechanical/Aeronautical/Management Engineering preferred). Good understanding of design processes. Familiarity with Quality System standards: EN9100 certification, Policy & Procedures management (Aviation sector preferred). Knowledge of Airworthiness regulations (i. e. EASA Part 21). Basic knowledge of engineering drawing and drafting standards. Familiarity with Configuration Management policies and principles. English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral. Work Visa, in accordance with local regulations, is required. Desired Characteristics Previous experience in Audit execution on Engineering processes; qualified Auditor path completion and experience in Audits vs Supplier is an appreciated skill. Ability to navigate through the aeronautical Certification Specifications. Knowledge of PLM tools to manage configuration control and technical documentation (preferred Windchill). Knowledge of BPR (Business Process Reengineering) tools to perform process mapping. Knowledge of project management methodologies. Capability of providing support to the Engineering team by engaging the experts for the various topics. Proactivity and capability of organizing work autonomously.
