In Non-Volatile Memories, several error mechanisms may coexist. The most common is degradation of the stored data, however other phenomena may occur. E. g. , the addressing circuitry may fail. The reading phase may introduce errors, as well.

YOUR ROLE

- study alternative error mechanisms in Non-Volatile Memories

- assess the memory performance, in the event of multiple error sources

- study countermeasures known in literature (if any)

- develop novel error correction codes (ECC), also tackling these kind of errors

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

- Balchelor's degree in Informatics, or Electrical / Telecommunications / Computer Engineering

- Deep knowledge of BCH and Reed-Solomon codes and of the mathematics behind them

- Preferably, knowledge of Non-Volatile Memories

- Expertise with Matlab and/or Python

- Curiosity and attitude to team working
