Offer DescriptionThe research program aims to adapt a hybrid optical system, based on TD-NIRS and DCS, for data acquisition on human subjects within the 3T MRI scanner.

In addition, TD-NIRS DCS evaluation of cortical energetic and vascular status will be optimised by exploiting the information delivered by structural MRI for improved co-registration with anatomy and enhanced physical modelling.

The concurrent and integrated optical and MRI recordings will enable direct comparison of the two technologies in the assessment of cerebral physiology.

This activity is part of the project PRIN-2022- 2022MHMSSJ: "Combining magnetic resonance imaging and optical spectroscopy to map microvascular function and oxygen metabolism in healthy and diseased brain".
