We are currently looking for a **Diagnostic Liaison _ Maternity Leave (Lazio, Campania) **to play a leading role in our Oncology Business Unit.
**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
The Diagnostic Liaison will lead and develop initiatives to minimize barriers in diagnostic pathway related to mandatory biomarker testing by establishing seamless sample flow between clinicians and labs.
The Diagnostic Liaison engages laboratory experts (e. g. , lab decision-makers, pathologists and molecular biologists), diagnostic partners, and professional associations and societies in in-depth medical / scientific diagnostic discussions, and delivers presentations in a non-promotional scientific context as determined by local Diagnostic strategy (and in line with the Oncology brand strategy).
**MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
The role broadly includes the following key components:
**Develop a strong local network
- Stakeholder selection, liaison and benefit-oriented support of pathologists, molecular biologists, geneticists and other decision makers in the diagnostic process
- Regional planning in cooperation with sales force (SF), Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) and field Market Access
- Identify and segment Key External Experts (KEEs) according to their scientific interest and related affiliations to contribute to the local KEE engagement plan.
**Support novel biomarker introduction and quality initiatives
- Identify and help resolve barriers to testing
- Implementation of national diagnostic strategies
- Planning and implementation of educational activities
- Presentation and discussion with stakeholders on diagnostic process, eg.
lab economic variables (reimbursement) and regulatory aspects of companion diagnostic assays, need for diagnostic quality assurance (QA) programmes
- Contribute to oncology KPIs for sales and testing
**Engage in scientific exchange
- Engage with the Diagnostic community in a highly credible, balanced/objective way, representing AZ's dedication to and excellence in science
- Develop and maintain scientific knowledge on product related biomarkers.
- Provide support to internal stakeholders for content development, agreeing agendas and delivery of effective diagnostic presentations
- Attend scientific congresses
**Build capability of other internal and external stakeholders
- Act as an educational resource to internal stakeholders
- Effectively gather, relevant new knowledge and meaningful insights about the external diagnostic environment to internal colleagues
**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
**Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- A degree in Biology or Biotechnology is highly preferred.
Scientific degrees with a focus on biology can be taken into consideration
- A PhD in molecular Biology/Pathology or related areas is highly preferred
- Experience with molecular testing in both research or diagnostic in pathology environment, oncology and genetics (preferred)
- Availability to frequent business trip
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Domicile in Rome (preferred) or Naples
