Dietitian (Holistic Health & Fitness)
Duties**:
- Serve as the Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist for an Army brigade sized unit.
- Deliver individual, group, and unit nutrition services and education to optimize Solder performance, overall unit readiness, and mission success.
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to communicate and coordinate programming appropriate to the needs of health and injured Soldiers.
- Conduct assessments to identify nutrition-related concerns of individuals and units.
- Develop comprehensive performance nutrition programs that improve foundational health and optimize environmental and task-specific performance.
- Execute and evaluate programs, services, education, and resources for performance enhancement.

**Conditions of Employment**:
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U. S. Citizenship.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315. 19.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds is required.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
Certifying organization varies on location.
Advanced certification (e. g. , ALS) does not supersede BLS.
- Incumbent may be required to work later in the day and/or on weekends, as scheduled by the supervisor.
- The work requires physical exertion that includes lifting of moderately heavy items, to include treatment tables, exercise equipment, research data collection equipment, and military equipment used by Soldiers.
- The work also requires exertion to perform exercises used in physical performance and rehabilitation, including all events in the Army Combat Fitness Test.
- This position requires that you undergo Urinalysis Testing prior to entering the position and random drug testing thereafter.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Immunization screening is required.
Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- A Tier 1 - non-sensitive Low Risk background check is required.
- The incumbent may be assigned a government cell phone and be required to be in an on-call status after hours and on weekends.
- Valid Registration license by the Commision on Dietitian Registration, Registered Dietician/Nutritionist (RDN).

**Basic Requirement for Dietitian (Holistic Health and Fitness)**:
***Degree**: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree in the field of dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science.
The curriculum must have been in accordance with the qualifying requirements established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) (formerly American Dietetic Association (ADA) prior to January 1, 2012) in effect at the time of graduation.
The educational program must have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), or an accrediting body recognized by the U. S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

Completion of a coordinated undergraduate program, internship, or other clinical component approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) (formerly American Dietetic Association (ADA)) for dietitians or nutritionists.
**OR
Professional registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
**Exemption**: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0630 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before.
Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.
