Overview
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.
As a partner section, MSF Italy is engaged in saving lives and alleviating suffering through fundraising; communication and advocacy, recruitment and deployment of field workers; as well as running operations in Italy and supporting international operations through expertise and other kinds of direct support.
Reporting to the Digital Content and Social Media Coordinator, the
Digital Content and Social Media Officer
ensures the editing, production, and updating of content published on websites, social media, and social media advertising. He/she monitors data to optimize performance and produces reports.
She/He optimizes and produces content from a SEO perspective. Ensures community management, engagement of online communities and online influencers.
Responsibilities
She/He ensures the production, editing, updating and optimization of website and social media content in line with the defined content strategy and SEO strategies:
• She/He ensures the production, editing and updating of content and its dissemination for digital channels and strategies: online campaigns, websites, landing pages, blogs, newsletter, social media, social stories;
• Contributes to the dissemination, publishing, and updating of content with information, awareness, advocacy, fundraising and engagement objectives, including lead generation activities;
• Participates in the development of online communication campaigns to achieve the Digital Unit's objectives and participates in the development of campaigns managed by other areas or departments;
• Defines the strategy and supports the production of content to promote MSF Italy's events, grassroots initiatives, and volunteering;
• Adapts the communication packages of MSF's operational centers and disseminates them online according to a digital first logic;
• Develops and implements content and strategies to optimize and position the institutional website in terms of SEO;
• Monitors social media and news to support the definition and implementation of an integrated editorial plan between traditional media, websites and social media;
• Promotes the involvement of MSF internal communities (humanitarian workers, volunteers, staff) in the production of digital content with awareness and engagement objectives;
• Provides support to MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières) operations regarding the production of content and communication tools;
• Participates in the development and maintenance of the MSF. IT website.
Social Media Advertising:
• Supports the Digital Content and Social Media Coordinator in developing and implementing social media advertising campaigns for awareness, engagement and leads acquisition objectives.
She/He ensures community management, community engagement and online influencers:
• Community management: she/he moderates dialogue and encourages in-depth conversation on humanitarian issues on the organization's social media and websites;
• Ensures updated Q&A: produces a Q&A document to facilitate the management of comments, questions and interactions from users;
• Contributes to the development and implementation of strategies for engaging online influencers and creators.
Analysis and monitoring activities:
• She/He manages social media analysis/insight platforms and produces monthly and annual performance reports for websites and social media showing the level of engagement, sentiment of online communities and influencers;
• Monitors the growth of online communities and contributes to the identification of the strategy to increase online engagement and the engagement of online influencers;
Transversal areas with other departments/areas:
• Participation in cross-working platforms: 5×1000; Events platform; TikTok Hub; Spokepool;
• Focal point for social management of volunteering pages and participates in volunteer training on communication and social media.
Qualifications
Key requirements:
Training in communication, digital marketing, social media;
Excellent creative and writing skills;
Excellent knowledge of social media (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn);
Good knowledge of photo/video editing platforms (Canva, CapCut);
Excellent knowledge of CMS (WordPress);
Knowledge of English language B2.

Experience:
At least 5 years' experience in similar roles;
Previous experience in managing META business manager, Google analytics;
Previous experience in managing community management and listening platforms such as SocialBakers/HootSuite.
Added value:
Degree in Communication and Social Media;
Knowledge of photo/video editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere).
Positions details:
Contract:
Fixed-term contract of 12 months with potential extension. Full-time. Level II of Italian CCNL of Commerce.
Gross Annual Salary:
31. 934, 00€ – max 38. 976, 00€. Salary will be commensurate to the experience of the selected candidate.
Expected start date:
As soon as possible.
Location:
Hybrid. MSF Italy Rome Office, and from home.
