- To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Director Industrial Design & Innovation located in Milan, Italy. - The Director Industrial Design & Innovation's role involves establishing and leading a new Design Systems organization that combines our Design and Systems engineering teams.

You will promote a systemic approach in our design activities, define strategy and vision and ensure the success of this new combined team. - What a typical day looks like:

- Typically you lead the system engineering and design teams and act as point of contact for high level questions regarding to ID / UX / UI matters related to our product design; additionally you will interface with your colleagues at the other Medical Design locations of Flex

- Together with senior leadership you develop the vision and strategies to continuously improve our systems and processes and implement changes across your organization

- As people manager you will work with your highly experienced team to provide them all the needed support and provide them with training and development opportunities with an eye on succession planning

- Together with Project and Program Managers you collaborate with Business Development in the RFQ stage and interface directly with customers to provide them insights

- On average you will travel up to ~10-15% to team and customer meetings with a focus on the EMEA area, and sometimes internationally

- The experience we're looking to add to our team:

- We are looking for someone with a finished degree in relevant areas such as Industrial Design, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar

- Important to us is that you not only have a strong technical background to effectively interface with our engineers, but also have previous experience leading a team

- And existing experience with implementing a systemic design thinking approach in engineering teams would give you a strong advantage

- Professional English skills are mandatory in this role to effectively collaborate with all of your stakeholders; additional languages like Italian would be a nice to have
