The job:
As Director, Inside & Digital Sales for Fisher Scientific Europe, you will lead an ambitious pan-European sales team. You will drive growth among small, mid-sized, and remote customers, applying data and digital tools to strictly optimize sales efficiency and performance. Target customer segments include: Pharma; Biotech; Academia & Industrial. You can learn more about our Fisher Scientific product portfolio here.
This role is fully remote (working from home), based anywhere in Europe. Regular international travel – between 25-50% of working time, including overnight stays – will be required to support your team and attend customer and supplier meetings. Candidates should live within commuting distance of an international airport.
What will you do?
In conjunction with the Vice President, Commercial Operations Europe, set and achieve or exceed sales and margin targets through new business wins and share of wallet growthManage daily, monthly, quarterly and long-term sales metrics and forecasting processesDrive overall execution of sales goals, including establishing and maintaining business plans within each territoryDrive digital campaigns, prioritize key customer interactions, and improve sales team efficiencyDevelop and implement pan-European processes and standard work protocolsCollaborate with Sr Segment Directors to bring segment strategies to bear on the customer baseIdentify sub-segment trends and work with marketing and strategic pricing to develop and launch campaigns that optimize opportunities and improve team focusEmbrace digital tools and automation to improve overall sales and efficiencyCollaborate with suppliers to gain value and support specific to the Inside & Digital Sales teamAccountable for the engagement, performance, compensation, and development of the teamPartner with the new Business Development team to build and assess target lists for business developmentMaintain a detailed understanding of market dynamics that impact plans/strategies
Who we are looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Science or Business is preferred, although equivalent experience will also be consideredExtensive sales experience within the Life Science / Biotech industry, ideally with some time spent in Inside SalesMultiple years of successful sales management experience (managing a sales team), leading a large team and, ideally, managing managersUnderstanding all aspects of the distribution business model, including ServicesAble to comprehend complex markets and effectively communicate our value proposition to customers in all sectorsEstablished proficiency in leadership, sales, digital tools & technology, presentation, and a discerning business sense for financial and profitability driversExcellent communication skills and use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint vitalWilling and able to travel across Europe (25-50%) and to attend regional, national or international meetingsAdvanced level of English (written and spoken)Valid driving licence
