Minimum qualifications:
- J. D. , LLB or equivalent degree or otherwise authorized to practice law (e. g. , have registered in-house status) in the country in which the position is located
- Experience with intellectual property, privacy, antitrust, content, consumer, and/or class action litigation
- Experience in a leadership and management role
- Experience with litigation
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in litigation including examining and defending witnesses, verbal argument, and trial experience
- Experience collaborating with executives and cross-functional teams, with the ability to be action-oriented and manage a high volume of request
- Experience working at a US headquartered public company
- Knowledge of Google products and business, and the broader technology industry
- Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment with limited direction, balance competing priorities, and manage several time-sensitive projects at once, with eagerness to take on cutting-edge legal issues
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail

The Litigation team at Google is dedicated to advising Google on a wide variety of complex legal matters that pose litigation risk to our products and businesses.
We manage litigation and pre-litigation disputes around the world, including intellectual property, privacy, antitrust, content, consumer, and class action litigation.
We specialize in giving legal advice about litigation risks, and coming up with creative ways to mitigate and eliminate those risks.

As the Legal Director of International Litigation, you will be responsible for leading a team of attorneys managing and supporting litigation and pre-litigation disputes for Google outside of the United States, with a focus on cross-border litigation in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

**Responsibilities**:
- Lead, inspire, develop, and manage a team responsible for all aspects of litigation and pre-litigation disputes
- Work closely with international leadership across legal, product, engineering, and business teams to provide counseling on litigation and pre-litigation disputes
- Serve as the main point of contact for leadership on legal issues related to major cross-border litigation outside of the United States, such as intellectual property, privacy, antitrust, content, consumer, and class action litigation, and coordinate work across the Legal team according to leadership's priorities
- Partner with outside counsel to take an active role in litigation and pre-litigation disputes
- Collaborate with other external in-house counsel and legal organizations on litigation and policy matters
