Job Description

The Medical Department ECP stands for integrity through unbiased, objective, and balanced medical-scientific dialogues on a peer-to-peer level with the medical community in general and key medical experts (physicians/scientists) in particular.

Under the leadership of the Head of Medical ECP, the Head of Medical Italy leads the Italian Medical Team.

**What You'll Do**:

- As a key member of the ECP Medical Leadership Team, the Head of Medical Italy actively participates in the development of the ECP medical strategy and overall ECP Medical governance.

- Reports into the Head (Vice President) of Medical ECP

- Leads and develops the Italian Medical team

- Ensures excellence in scientific leadership in all therapeutic areas by developing and implementing the Medical Italy:

- Evidence generation strategy and plan

- Evidence dissemination strategy and plan (including medical-scientific education programs)

- External stakeholders (medical community, primarily key medical experts) engagement strategy and plan

- Develops the above-mentioned strategies and programs in alignment and very close collaboration with the Italian Commercial organization, the Italian V&A team, the Italian Regulatory team, the Italian Clinical Research team, the ECP Medical Team as well as other cross-functional partners.

- Manages the Italian Medical budget

- Ensures highest ethical standards and guarantees that compliance SOPs are in place, effective and followed.

**Who You Are**:

The Head of Medical Italy will be the voice of the Italian Medical team and is a key member of the Italian LT. As such, he/she will very closely work with all Biogen Italy team members, the Italian Biogen LT, the ECP Medical LT and other key stakeholders in ECP and Global Biogen, effectively partnering cross-functionally, clearly communicating and reporting, overseeing projects, activities and corresponding budgets with proactive, empowering leadership style, business acumen and high ethical standards.

**Qualifications**:

**Required Skills**:

- Master's degree in business, economics, or finance.

- Medical-scientific background (MD, PharmD, PhD or MSc)

- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Italian

- Ideally minimum 15 years of experience in the life-science industry (10 years in Medical)

- Proven understanding of the life science industry and the ECP health-care systems

- Proven excellent leadership and people management skills.

Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a highly complex matrixed structure

- Strategic thinking; Business acumen

- Proven ability to develop and implement medical-scientific strategies and action plans (evidence generation, evidence dissemination - including the organization, management and implementation of HCP training and education programs)

- Excellent organizational and project management skills

- Excellent analytical skills; Digital/omnichannel solutions

- Capability to understand, interpret, and clearly and precisely communicate complex medical-scientific information

- Highest level of integrity; Flexibility and creative problem solving

- COMMUNICATION COMPETENCIES: excellent verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English and the ability to formulate medical-scientific narratives with precision.
