About this position: The Director of Finance and Operations is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing and managing the financial health, operational effectiveness, and people operations of LSM. This role ensures that the LSM secretariat operates efficiently, complies with all legal and financial requirements, and has the systems and processes in place to support its mission-driven work. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Ensure LSM has excellent standard finance, human resource, and operation policies that reflect the organization's culture and are accurately documented. Contribute to strengthening the implementation of strategic and annual plans across the organization. Manage Staff Accountant, People Operations Manager, Operations Coordinator, and other staff as needed. Financial Strategy and Management: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals. Prepare, manage, and monitor the organizational annual budget. Oversee cash flow planning and analysis. Engage the Internal Affairs Committee of the Board of Directors to develop financial plans and projections. Accounting and Administration: Oversee accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management. Present monthly reports on revenue and expenses. Ensure timely preparation of financial statements. Coordinate and manage the annual audit process. People Operations: Ensure organizational compliance with federal and local employment and contractor laws. Manage compensation systems and oversee human resources processes like recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and performance management. Operations: Manage day-to-day operations of the global team. Oversee contracts and troubleshoot issues related to overseas offices. Maintain liability and other relevant insurance. Skills and Characteristics Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. At least 8 years of experience with financial and operations management, particularly in international or Catholic NGOs. Good knowledge of Financial Management Strategies and nonprofit accounting. Project management, people management, and account management skills. Languages: English is essential; Spanish, Italian, or French are valued.
