**WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking an experienced and visionary **Director of Security** to lead, grow and develop our global security function.
This role is critical to safeguarding our systems, data, and infrastructure while ensuring compliance with global privacy and security standards.
As a key leader in our organization, you will work closely with engineering, product, legal and operations teams to build, implement, and oversee the development of the security strategy for a high-scale tech company that reaches over 400M households around the world.
**WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Director of Security you will be responsible for:
**Strategic Leadership**:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global security strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary advisor on security-related risks, policies, and technologies to the Head of Engineering and other stakeholders.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of security initiatives and ensure continuous improvement.
- Lead Security, Risk and Compliance of a Global organisation through post-merger integration.
**Team Leadership and Collaboration**:
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of security analysts, engineers, and specialists.
- Foster a culture of security awareness across the organization through training and communication.
- Partner with product, engineering, IT, and legal teams to address security challenges proactively, working to mitigate risks and improve security posture.
**Governance, Risk, and Compliance**:
- Collaborate with data and compliance teams to ensure proper handling and protection of PII and other sensitive data, ensuring compliance with global data privacy regulations such as GDPR, PIPEDA, and CCPA.
- Lead risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify, quantify, and mitigate security risks.
- Maintain and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
**Security Operations**:
- Oversee security monitoring and vulnerability management processes.
- Oversee incident response planning, including tabletop exercises and audits.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Evaluate and manage security vendors and technologies, including intrusion detection systems and endpoint protection solutions.
- Conduct regular penetration tests, vulnerability scans, and security audits.
- Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with third-party vendors and cloud services.
**WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA or CIPP.
- Proven experience in securing systems and data in a high-scale, cloud-first environment.
- Strong background in the ad tech industry or experience with digital advertising platforms is highly preferred.
- Experience leading and onboarding companies into a compliance program such as SOC/ISO/PCI
- Strong fluency in English, to daily communicate with the Canadian colleagues;
