Job Description: The Manager Communications & Public Affairs, Ford Italia is the most senior communications position in the Italian market team. The role reports directly to the Executive Director, Communications & Public Affairs for Ford in Europe and serves as a strategic communications advisor to the Managing Director, Ford Italia.
This multi-dimensional role requires coordination with various functions, including the Italian senior management team, European communications teams, and global teams based in Dearborn, Michigan. Key responsibilities include overseeing all Ford product, software, and technology communications in Italy, driving creative communications campaigns and events that inspire customers and build the Ford fan base in Italy.
The role also involves employee communications, issues, and crisis management, as well as executive communications. Additionally, it will coordinate a new storytelling strategy for the Italy team, focusing on direct-to-consumer PR communications with an emphasis on quality over quantity of storytelling and digital channel optimization to deliver measurable business impact.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing comms, Advertising & Creative CampaignsAt least 10 years of professional experience in marketing and communication in a global company, with expertise in digital comms and creative campaign delivery, preferably in the consumer areaExperience and examples of creative and wider strategic thinking, building integrated, digital campaigns working with creative and media teams in either one agency or multi-agency groupsSpecific experience in digital channel strategy and content delivery in multi-channel campaignsA strong portfolio of success in social media and digital channelsExtensive hands-on experience with direct consumer research, insight discovery for campaign effectiveness, monitoring campaign performance through real-time data analyticsExperience in eCommerce, performance/digital marketing, purchase funnel-strategy, and omni-channel shopper journey requiredTrack record of successful partnership activation and creative collaborationsExperience in retail marketing with understanding of brand and product marketing processes, shopper engagement, and proven record of driving business results through targeted communicationsDigital communications experience with extensive social media channel strategy (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok essential)Proven expertise in creative strategy, brand strategy, and planning within a communications, marketing, or advertising functionExperience owning and writing creative briefs and working with business and creative stakeholdersExperience managing several projects concurrently: excellent time management, organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) allowing for effective stakeholder management and the ability to work independently and with a high-performing team, with a proven ability to build relationships, own projects, and navigate complex environmentsExperience in leading, managing, and developing performance-oriented teamsOutstanding oral, written, and presentation skills with impeccable attention to detail and an ability to synthesize complex information into simple high-level messagesExcellent communication and networking experience and skills in a wide range of situations and with people at all levels within a large organization, including global leadershipExcellent storytelling skills with a track record of driving business results and proven experience in the effective use and further development of various communication assets, formats, and channelsFluent in Italian and English, oral and written language capabilitiesPersonal Qualities: Adaptable and self-directed, goal-oriented and flexibleQuick to learn new processes and tools, demonstrating strong technical/operational capabilitiesStrategically strong and equally hands-on and able to implement ideas yourselfA strong team player, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually, and independentlyTechnologically savvy - both in terms of the media and assets that will be created but also in working with members of the business - from software and connectivity teams, design, and engineeringAble to effectively manage senior leader relationships as well as a broad range of internal and client-facing professionalsProactive and forward-thinking nature to identify and follow-through on potential opportunitiesAbility to work under pressure and to tight deadlinesModel Ford values and behaviors, and embrace our diversity, equity, and inclusion objectivesResilient and able to adapt to changing circumstances
