Divisional Engineering Manager (M/F/D)
Reporting to Sinova Chief Technical Officer, the Divisional Engineering Manager (M/F/d) **leads, develops and provides direction and guidance to the members of the Sinova Engineering Department** (management of 10 to 15 people). She/He leads Engineering, providing support in the areas of process optimization and standardization essentially needed on-site to ensure an efficient operation, providing support in the areas of engineering & technology mainly with provision of technical expertise for investment projects and other consultancy frequently carried out on-site.
High availability and interest for travelling is required as business trips may represent up to 60%, but not over weekends.
**Core responsibilities**:
1) Leadership of the engineering department
- Elaboration and implementation of appropriate workflows, standards, methods, and guidelines to leads the employees in the Engineering department.
- Implementation of appropriate measures to develop the professional and personal skills of the employees.
2) Technical expert pool
- Development of access to external expertise for specific technical topics.
- Technical support for other divsions, e. g. Food & Pharma, when requested.
- Technical exchange and knowledge transfer with external suppliers, institutions, research companies etc.
3) Strong and important role during technical investment projects
- Strong involvement and participation as technical expert and stream leader.
- CAPEX estimation, technology & process definition and selection.
- Basic and detail engineering, commisioning and start-up of new or modified installations.
- Transfer of the project specification into technical solutions.
- Proposition of new, more efficient or general better technologies within projects.
4) Management of technical projects
- Management of technical projects within the Sinova guidelines, work flows, framework, lessons learned
5) Technical development and standardisation
- Initiation and performing of studies and optimisation projects to increase the overall performance of our operational processes incl. infrastructure concerning yield, energy efficiency, quality etc.
- Documentation and transformation of new technical experience and knowledge into standards, best practise and policies appropriate for the operational organisation in order to share the technical and process knowledge within Sinova.
- Supporter and sparrings partner for the Innovation department in order to help with the transformation of innovation ideas into technical solutions.
- Partner and stakeholder for the indirect procurement activities of the Group Procurement.
6) Consultancy of the operational sites and the operational leaders concerning all technical topics and questions
- Consultancy and sparrings partner for the operational units concerning all technical questions.
- Evaluation of planned activities and projects.
- Evaluation of planned technical solutions.
**Who will succeed with us in this function?
1) Education: Master's degree / University study, ideally in a technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Biochemical, Automation, Food processing, Environmental etc. ) but not obligatory.
2) Professional experience: 6 to 10 years in manufacturing companies.
3) Hard skills:
- Expertise in Technical / Process knowledge.
- Strong project management skills and experience.
- Operational experience.
- Leadership experience.
- Basic economic knowledge and business understanding.
- A fluent level of English is mandatory, other language(s) (espcially Polish, Romanian, French or Spanish) will be appreciated.
4) Soft skills:
- Ability to build effective and motivated teams.
- Clear, structured and cooperative working style.
- Desire and ability to work in an international environment.
- Strong drive for results.
- Ability to solve problems and make appropriate decisions.
