**DOORMAN**:
Job purpose
As a pivotal member of the Front of House (FOH) team, the Doorman is responsible for creating a warm, friendly welcome and ensuring a great first impression for members and guests visiting the exclusive member club. Working at street and reception level, the Doorman must possess diplomacy and strength in equal measure, acting as an ambassador for the club both in the public domain and within the club itself.
**Main Activities and Responsibilities**:
- Welcome and acknowledge all members and guests according to club standards, anticipate and address guest service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
- Greet and thank guests with genuine appreciation and bid them farewell fondly.
- Manage the front door by welcoming in members, addressing them by name, and alerting the front desk to their arrival.
- Open and close car doors as appropriate, assist members with coats, umbrellas, bags, and other belongings.
- Screen visitors to the club to ensure only bona fide members and their guests gain access to the front desk.
- Hail taxis for departing guests and assist with taxi services as needed.
- Keep the outside of the club clean, swept, and free of obstacles or rubbish.
- Build rapport with residents and commercial neighbors.
- Manage smokers to ensure they do not smoke in the proximity of the club.
- Move taxis if they have engines idling and communicate with the club via radio when necessary.
- Ensure members and their guests leave quietly and safely, monitoring those who may be intoxicated.
- Direct deliveries to the correct entrance and liaise with the security team as needed.
- Answer general member and customer inquiries about the club's facilities, services, timings, dress code, and other policies and procedures.
- Be fully conversant with all dining options, club facilities, packages, and upcoming events.
- Engage members or guests to enhance the service experience when required and respond to special requests.
- Follow all club policies and procedures, maintain a clean and professional appearance, and protect company assets.
- Maintain physical fitness as required for the role, including the ability to bend, stoop, and lift, as well as possessing a valid driver's license.
- Manage other activities relating to or resulting from what is indicated in the previous points.
**Key Competencies**:
**Required Education and Experience**:
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar business in the luxury market.
- Excellent communication skills with natural tact and diplomacy.
- Friendly and characterful demeanor with a genuine enjoyment of meeting and greeting people.
- Attention to detail and the ability to anticipate and pre-empt issues or challenges.
- Discretion, empathy, and compassion.
- Physical fitness and the ability to be on feet for several hours at a time in all weathers.
- Knowledge of one or more foreign languages (min. Italian and English).
**General Knowledge and Technical Skills**:
- Comprehensive knowledge of club policies, procedures, and amenities, including dining options, club facilities, and upcoming events.
- Proficiency in using communication tools such as radios or intercom systems to coordinate with other staff members effectively.
- Technical proficiency in basic security procedures and equipment, such as surveillance systems or access control mechanisms.
- Basic understanding of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with club members, guests, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of individuals.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail to anticipate and address guest needs proactively.
- Diplomacy, tact, and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information and situations.
- Empathy and compassion, particularly when dealing with guests with unique needs or concerns.
- Physical fitness and stamina to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items as needed, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure or in challenging situations.
