Italdesign is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Construction Engineering Leader, who will be employed in the Doors Development team, part of the Body Development department of the Italian site of Italdesign.
S/He will be responsible to reach the targets of the assigned field of development.
**Responsibilities
The role, focused on the coordination of a work team aimed at the development of Exterior Doors within a vehicle development project, requires at least 2 years of experience in the automotive sector.
S/He will take an active part in:
- Technical co-ordination of CAD design, within the constraints of project complexity, time and cost;- Continuous verification of the correct development of the system/component, within the constraints of the project time and cost constraints;- Input data acquisition and output communication;- Team coordination, workload distribution and support to Team Leader;- Progress control, respecting project time and cost constraints;- Promotion of the work of the Organizational Unit within the company and towards of the Group Brands.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- **Key requirements
- Knowledge of the side doors as a product (guideline, best practices, costs and time);- Technical drawing and modeling (CAD processes, very good knowledge of Catia v5/v6, data release systems and processes);- Ability to represent and develop technical solutions with alternatives to blocking points;- Ability to constantly monitor the evolution of surrounding components: ability to select changes in boundary conditions relevant to the component to be developed/installed;- Knowledge of reference systems and use of tolerances;- Knowledge of modelling software;-
- Knowledge of CAD release systems and processes (IDG and Customer);- Knowledge of the product and its guideline/Handbook, best practices for its development;- Production technologies and tooling lead time (Sheet metal, Aluminium, Composite, Plastic and Foam moulding, stamping, welding, surface treatments);- Materials technologies (material characteristics);- Ability to transform geometric constraints and shapes into feasible solutions at process level and interpretation of geometrical constraints arising from legislative/homologation aspects;- Ability to transform technical contents/targets into economic constraints and geometric constraints into feasible process solutions;- Understanding and interpretation of style forms: ability to draw up proposals for compliance with technical constraints;- Reading and interpretation and possible drafting of technical documentation;- Coordinating team members by assigning tasks in a targeted manner, depending on each person's experience, skills, availability;- Development and design techniques and processes (design review, robust design, FMEA. . . );- Production technologies (plastic and sheet metal moulding, welding, surface treatments, . . . );- Concepts of stylistic couplings between components (Flush&gaps, etc.
);- Ability to transform targets/performance into geometric constraints;- Benchmarking knowledge for developed technical solutions;- Customer and/or supplier organisation, tools and procedures;- Knowledge of project milestones/priorities;- Timelines, RASI and project targets.
**Preferential requirements
- Quality standards, processes, dynamics typical of an OEM car manufacturer;- Knowledge of Legislative/homologation/rating constraints & requirements;- Knowledge of component validation methods and procedures (eg.
testing specifications);- Ability to disseminate and transfer methodology and know-how in his/her own project team and to the rest of the department teams. OTHER INFORMATIONS
**Additional Information
**Education**: Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Material Engineering or technical diploma.
**Language skills**: Fluent knowledge of written and spoken Italian and English are required.
