Job Description: The Supplier Performance Specialist is responsible for developing and improving the LHD Supply Chain during the contractual relationship.
They assess the supplier's operational capability to address and resolve problems that could jeopardize or affect the LHD customer programs' deliveries of helicopters, spare parts, repairs, and new product introduction.
Main activities: Improve poor performing Suppliers based on key performance indicators (Delivery & Quality KPI's) and stakeholder inputs impacting LHD Final assembly lines, CS&S, Programs, and business needs.
Performance improvement focuses on mid to long-term supply chain improvements by identifying manufacturing weaknesses such as process repeatability, capacity, supply chain, and product quality.
Instigate Quality investigations using industry tools and methods such as 8D RCCA's, Get to Green improvement plans, critical supplier program reviews, and escalations when required.
Provide leadership during investigations of major problems and special projects, focusing on developing strong partnerships with suppliers.
Lead suppliers through the root cause and corrective action process when supplier rejections are issued.
Act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve supplier performance issues and provide technical support.
Lead/assist Supplier Product transitions of critical components when products are resourced or when New Suppliers are onboarded to LHD and support sourcing activities with the P&SC arena.
Utilize Program Management capabilities to work with local Programs and PPL to manage New Product Introduction through Qualification and Certification on to aircraft Platform.
Perform rate readiness for new equipment and new aircraft platforms.
Manage supplier assessments to evaluate suppliers, drive continuous improvements, and build strategic partnerships.
Collaborate with commodity management, quality, engineering, and program management teams to ensure suppliers meet LH contractual, regulatory, and business program needs.
Support current production and new product/program through the management of mid-to-long term Supplier Performance Improvement plans and, where required, Get to Green improvement plans.
HARD SKILLS Minimum five years' experience in leading manufacturing roles, continuous improvement roles, or Supply Chain manager roles.
Fluent in English (both spoken and written).
Disciplined approach to problem solving.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and report writing.
Familiarity with Continuous Improvement tools: 5S, 8D, and Kaizen event coordination.
SOFT SKILLS Ability to work in cross-functional team environments.
Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and cross-cultural teamwork.
