**Purpose of the job
The BUCM, in coordination with the Project Director and Commercial BUCM, has overall responsibility to follow-up all project manufacturing commercial activities.
**Organization and Reporting**:
The BUCM reports directly to the EMEA BU Contract Management Leader.
**Responsibilities and Posting Description
**The Business Unit Contract Manager is responsible for:
- Supporting the project (s) execution start-up through contract analysis and preparation of the Project Commercial Execution Plan
- Establishment and implementation of project specific contractual procedures, particularly regarding claims, insurance, variation orders, correspondence and notifications
- Liaise with the Project Planning Manager to ensure appropriate schedules are produced and maintained, to support Project Execution Strategy, including monitoring of penalty exposures
- Support project risk and opportunity identification and analysis.
Support the management of risks and opportunities by development and implementation of appropriate commercial action plans.
- Support the elaboration and follow-up of supply and subcontractors' contracts in order to make sure that back-to-back is made and all obligations are fulfilled.
- Ensure proper change and claims evaluations are given in line with contractual requirements.
- Management of changes and claims to / from customers and consortium partners.
- Support the management of claims to / from contractors and sub-suppliers as required.
- Manufacturing cost evaluation of the milestone impact due to a change or claim.
- Substantiation of change and claims with detailed rate evaluation and process supporting documentation.
- Evaluation of manufacturing material and or indirect costs associated with a change or claim.
- Control back-charges from site and ensuring appropriate recovery from third parties.
- For above actions, reporting to Management to allow the control and monitoring of commercial issues for the project.
**Travel**:
- It is expected that travel to the Local European offices or Project job sites will be required.
**Accountabilities**:
- Project / Projects Review Presentations,
- Contractual costs and manufacturing analysis reports
- Project Variation Order templates and procedures for in house use of costs
- Detailed list of schedule and costs impact for manufacturing deviations,
- Change & Claim monitoring presentation/reports
**Educational requirements
- Educated to university degree level (BAC+5) and qualified in one of the following, contract management, manufacturing, engineering, finance or project management.
**Knowledge / Experience
- A minimum of five years' experience of project commercial work preferable in a multicultural engineering or construction environment or contact management consulting.
- A minimum of eight years of experience working in a manufacturing environment or subcontractor monitoring related to complex process or site cost evaluation.
- Fluent in Italian and English, expertise in other European language of distinct advantage (French)
- Additional language Spanish, Swedish, and German language could be an advantage.
