**What does a EMEA Direct Materials Category Manager do?

Contributes, supports, and implements effective purchasing strategies to coordinate and optimize Sealed Air's Direct Material spend across all Business Units throughout EMEA and Globally

**Why we need you?

- To use your **expertise in Direct Materials** through understanding the business and technical requirements, supply base and market trends.

- To use your **strategic mindset **to create cost efficiencies and develop and implement effective commodity and supply base management processes.

- To use your knowledge of the **suppliers' business models**, capabilities, trends in technology and relevant market indices to achieve our goals.

- To use your **negotiation skills** to mitigate risk, achieve supply continuity and meet business demands at the lowest total cost.

- To work with I&D, Quality and Process Engineering to identify and qualify new resins and alternate sources to achieve Sealed Air's cost savings and cash flow goals while maintaining/enhancing product quality and performance.

- To use your **communication skills to lead relationship with suppliers **resolving any service concerns and driving them to high performance standards through regular evaluation meetings.

- To support monthly EMEA Direct Materials forecasting across facilities and EMEA materials transition planning.

**Qualifications

- You are a professional with relevant **business experience in the packaging or plastics industry** in a Sales/Marketing, Technical or Procurement capacity.

- To use your background in Economics, or Chemicals.

- To use your knowledge in** Paper and/or Packaging **and your negotiation skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment that fosters aggressive and effective approaches to sourcing materials.

- You have** communication skills and fluency in English **(additional languages a plus)

- You are familiar in the usage of Windows Office and SAP.
