Energy Controlling Manager
About The Role About this opportunity Energy Controlling Manager will ensure focus and compliance for all aspects and types of energy isolation required for each Data Center construction project. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives. Delivering high quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet Customers' requirements. Providing Energy Isolation (EI) management. Implementing learning, providing consistency, and driving rigor into Customer's energy isolation program. Overseeing and assuring that all relevant parties comply with the overall EI program management on a data center construction campus. Helping to ensure the vendors' and contractors' EI program meets or exceeds safety policy requirements. Utilising SPS-101 EI SPS and SPS-101 EI Guidebook as the baseline and foundation of the EI program that is implemented throughout the campus and project. Establishing and managing an EI assurance process and work with site teams to close any gaps identified in assurance audits. Alignment Checklist SPS 101 EI is provided as a reference / guideline. Organising high risk activity (HRA) planning meetings, including but not limited to those associated with EI. Ensuring approval process for proposed EI procedures is in place. Establishing an EI permit process. Ensuring SoWs, MOPs, and scripts are reviewed, and all sources of energy are identified. Ensuring process is established that verifies qualifications, training, and PPE of personnel performing the work. Functioning to be executed by qualified alternates during multi-shift and peak energization time frames. Identifying EI potential impact on data center core operations. Serving as an independent authority for stopping all unsafe work practices regarding EI. Preparing the EI program plan at the commencement of EI activities with updates throughout the project to achieve the following: - Communicate and provide guidance on SPS-101 EI program documents. - Confirm authorising and performing roles are in place. - Establish acceptance criteria for authorising authority's site EI plan. Preparing EI assurance documentation as needed, with audits and findings to include inspections, issues, deficiencies, and best practices within the EI program. Prepare monthly EI reports to highlight the activities and general status of the EI program. Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance. About You Who we're looking for: Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills Experience in MV and LV switching and Data Centres construction and commissioning standards and practices. Proven ability to interact with teams and implement improvements. Ability to audit site practices against written standards as part of assurance role. Strong ability to interpret line drawings and system redundancies. Familiar with multiple sources of energy in Data Centers, with emphasis placed on electrical. Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical solutions and concepts to engineers and non-engineers. Methodical way of thinking and approach to work. Proficiency in English. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equal approved qualifications.
