Engineer For Architectural Millwork
Job Description: Description: Engineers accurate shop drawings for production fabrication.
Shop drawings are primarily created using, but not limited to, AutoCAD.
Proactive in researching and experimenting with new CAD technology and software.
Works with Sales, Estimating, Project Management, and Clients to obtain project objectives.
Visits jobsites to measure and gather relative information and tracks project correspondence in Sage 300.

Essential Functions: Quality control Shop drawings Material and parts lists Signoffs & As-Builts Field measurements Duties and Requirements: Interfaces with project management/sales throughout the product development life cycle to ensure design concepts meet client's needs and production drawings arrive to the shop floor on time.
Provides project management and sales with project status updates, correspondence, and appropriate reporting using Sage 300 Project Management.
Updates and maintains Sage 300 Drawing Log and drawings files on the Company Share folder.
Participates in Pre-production meetings with Estimating and Project Management to ensure designs reflect estimated construction methods.
Creates drawings to meet customer desires and maintains budget consciousness.
Builds and maintains confidence of the company by exposing and educating oneself to best practices.
Should be proactive in researching and experimenting with new materials with CAD/CAM technologies.
Maintains Company CAD database and archives historical data.
Maintains the ability to remain objective and proactive, follow through with business priorities, and manage quality initiatives throughout the estimating phases of the operation.
Follows a series of metrics and reporting mechanisms that help to evaluate the department's overall operational effectiveness.
Prepares quarterly reports that address developments in areas of responsibility.
Identifies and eliminates Company-wide non value-added activities, by working with Operations Management to implement effective corrective and preventive actions by way of EOS and continuous improvement.
Provides individual contribution in problem-solving efforts on selected projects to improve quality and reduce costs.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements: Qualifications & Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 4-Year degree in drafting or related subject.
5+ years experience in the custom woodworking industry.
Strong computer skills including AutoCAD, Windows-based applications, Microsoft Office, and Sage 300.
Must possess strong statistical and mathematical aptitude, as well as a solid understanding of the English language.
Communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Other Qualifications: Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver License with a clean driving record in accordance with the company's insurance carrier's standards may be required.
